Last entry for ICT

Hello!!
The end of ICT subject is coming and it is always good to look back to check how much I have learnt with this subject.
To be honest, I did not really like ICT because I was so bad and also I did not know too much about it, But now, I realize that I know much more and I am quite better now than few months ago.
ICT brought me the oportunity to become a 21st century teacher. As 21st century teacher we have to use ICT in our class because it's the future: the children become more engage with their learning and enjoy it more since it has visuals and interactive elemments that catches the students attention.

About my learning, I learnt some important aspects from ICT as privacity and the important of common licence. Then I discovered usefull and new tools to use in my fure classes as Genial.ly, Toontastic, Maindmaster or Canva
Then I learn a lot about social media I started to use Twitter, Pinterest and Youtube.

To make you easy and put all my new knowledge in practice, you can see here the presentation that I have made with Genial.ly of course!! Then I have created a Youtube video where you can find the presentation with my explanation.
To make the video I have used Screencast-o-matic programm, it is very easy!! With this program that you have to download (that is the bad point, as I said in other posts, I do not really like to download programms in my computer I usually think that a virus is going to attack my computer!!!) and then you can record you voice and the screen at the same time!

#twima8 The world is my audicence!

Do you know what is #Twima8?? I will explain you!

It is an educational collaborative project worldwide! It has been created by   Jon Smith

was the creator of this project, awsome idea!!
It is for teachers and students from all over the world to collaborate sharing their own story about their experience or something especial about education. It is good to hear people talking about their own experience because it is inspiritioal, and you can be inspiring for people too!!

This project use Flipgrid platform where everybody is able to add a video talking about something interesting. But if you want to do a project for your classroom, as a teacher you have to create a grid for your class and add a topic to spark the discussion.
Projects can be a good resource to engage students in a subject and also as teachers, project like this one help us to lose our fear to be expose in the network.
In my opinion, to record myself and share my expirience have some advantagaes and disadvantages. The advantages can be that I can hear people expirence and that make me feel cohabit in the world of teaching, teachers need to be supported by other teachers and their own expirence. For me one disadvantages maybe could be to be expose to the network because I do not really like post myself in internet but is true that it is for a good purpose so I do not main!

It is very very easy and intuitive to use it!! You just have to click on the plus and then record yourself then click continue and that is. Also one of its advantages is that videos are short, no more than 5 minutes. So it make everything quikcly and people have to summ up very good the information to share.

1 2 3 action!!

Hello everybody!!! Our video project is here!!

But before watching our video I would like to tell you the precces.

First of all, as you can read on the last post we made a storyboard where we planned all the stuff that we were going to need to record the video as the dialogue, the roles, the performances the pictures for the chroma.  Then we took all the things that we needed to make our performance and to dress up. That was so funny!
To record our video project properly, we needed a green chroma so we went to The Ministry of Education. To be more concrete we went to Future Classroom Lab What an adveture!!
 We prepared all the materials and we wait may be too much time because we were the last group to record it but at list, it not was to bad because we could practice a little bit more. Here you have some tweet to see how we did it!

To be honest, we should have assigned a role for each one (editor, community manager, recorder and drafter.) but finally we did all togehter because it was more easy for us.

When we finally recorded our video with the chroma, we started to edit it. and I think this part was a little bit difficult but.. come on! we are millenials, we should know how to do it! or almost how to resolve this problem. We needed a Youtube tutorial and that  helps to do it properly because we had never worked before with VideoPad
VideoPad is a programm that need to be download in a computer and then you can add pictures to the chroma, letters, audios. It was a very long and hard work but at the end was a good expirience.

The main aim of this project is to make students aware of the importance of women in all ambits across the history.
Through this important women that you can watch in the video, children learn different subjects.
To improve our society we need to arise the importance of equality.
As I said before, this women are separeted in the video depending on their profesional jobs.

It was a good experience to work with my collegue and also to learn more about to record and edit video because I do not usually do it. I learn a lot working with this gruop as a cooperative working.

Storyboard

Hello everybody,

Today I would like to show you our storyboard of a video project.

First of all, it was a pleasure to work on it with my classmates!!
Before recording a video and carry out a project, it is totaly needed to organice the information, to know what we really want to do and how we are going to do it. So storyboard is completly the best resource to do it. We used Google doc to make it because as I said in other posts, we can edit on line and everyone at the same time. it is a useful tool!

We chosen the topic "The Importace of Women Across the History" and our purpose is that our students work all the subject through the importance of woman. It is no clear? Don´t worry! I'll explain you clearly!
We have chosen important women along the History. Each ambit related with a subjects has two or three important women that make something very important for our society. So we chosen:

Arts and Craft: Marylin Monroe, Coco Chanel and Frida Kahlo
Science/Maths: Marie Curie and Gracie Hooper
History: Cleopatre and Joan of Arc
Values: Naomi Parker, Teresa de Calcuta and Malala Yousafzai

So all subjects would be teaching through this women.
The principal aims to cover with this topic are:
To be aware of the gender equality
To work democratic values
To learn contents about science, math arts and history
To work in groups.

Then we started to assign the roles for each one. I mean, Who would be the recorder, the editor, the comunnity manager and drafter.
After that we started to work on the dialogue and all the steps that we need to do to make our storyboard.

I would like to repeat that it was a perfect resource to organice our proyect, when we had to record ourselves, it was very easy because it was all organice in a paper.

So I attached above our Stoyboard just to make you clear what is our projects and the steps that we followed.

Hello everybody!

Today I am not going to talk about a new resource for my students, today I bring some interesting information for teachers as learners. 

Yesterday, I attended a online webinar  about on line learning and digital educative competence.  

I would like to introduce you María Jesús, my ICT teacher and also she works in the Ministry of Education, she talked about different kinds of courses as edupills, nooc, mooc, and spooc. All of them are from the Ministry of Education. I explain all of them below but first, you can see here María Jesus' twitter: Follow @mjgsm

Edupill: This tool has been thought for our mobile, that means you can use it in everywhere, even when you are waiting in a qeue! So you are not going to lose your time!!.
Edupills are short courses (around 3-7 minutes) to improve digital competence. They are focused on individual learning. And they are for engaging motivation to improve the digital competence. Each pill (course) is a descriptor to attract more extensive courses. 

Nooc: This is the next one depending on  lenght. Nooc are curses of 3 hours. The main idea is that you achive an aim in just 3 hours. This aim is a whole competence. There are a lot of variety in this courses, and also if you are available, you can do it in summer! As Edupill, these courses are completly free, you just have to join it. When the course ends, you still have access to the materials. These courses are opened for 10 days and as I said before, resources will be there even if the course has finished. The most important thing in these courses are motivation for learning, because you cannot get point for doing them. Finally there is not limit of people to join. 

Mooc: They are more famous than the others, their lenght are 4-5 weeks, and as the same way than the others, you can not get point for them. You can get digital insignias which can certificate your digital competence level. This courses are centered in active methodologies and they want to promote profesional learning communities. A good point of this courses is that there are a lot of variety, you can do just some activities or everething, it is up to you. And the courses have a lot of different topics. 

Spooc: The main characteristic of it is learning in your own pace because this courses never end. You can do one part one day and finsh the course one month later or even in summer. You have some support to do it but not in the same way than the other courses. 

At the end, María Jesus talked to us about "Digital Competence Portfolio for Teachers"
These resources has been created to let you know wich is your digital competences level. 
You need to attach some evidences to prove your level. The way to measure levels are equal than the Common European Framework of References for Languages.  These resources will be necessary in the future because is on way to BOE. 


In my opinion, it was a pleasure to attended the webinar, because I did not know too much about this courses and how to get courses to improve my digital competences. Then I think these courses are so useful because they are adapted to you, not you to them. It is amazing that even when you finish a course you are able to access to the contents and resources. So there is no excuses! If you want to improve, you have all the means to improve. 

On the other hand, may be forcing teachers to certify their level of digital competences is to risky nowadays, but I think it would be possible to carry it out in the future.

Hello again!!

I have something to tell you!
I have discovered a new atractive tool to use in our ICT class!!
PODCAST!
Children love music because it make them feel alive and they always want to listen it.
So we can use this amazing resource in our classes.
In this case I will use it for making a project, linking subjects and making an initial evaluation.
 But first, I am going to explain you which tools are needed to carry on.

First to plan everything I have used Google docs what incredible tool! I can share documents online, also if more than one person want to edit at the same time that is possible and you can see what the other people are editing. So it is perfect for cooperative working!
Then to record myself I used Audacity which is very easy to understand and use because is very visual. I found some problems when I wanted to save the audio because it is not very clearly in that aspect but finally I could! Then, it is true that if you want to use it you have to download the program in your computer, and I do not  really like download programs because sometimes they have virus.

Then next step is to share your podcast in a platform. I used Soundcloud I think this website is very useful and very interesting. You can add all the audios that you want for free and then you can create a public playlist  to make a common one.

Project Plan
As you can see here (or if you click here ) the purpose of this project is to join music, values and English. Through this subjects in the project, my students will be more independet, more critical. They will be able to choose what they want to learn and through what kind of values and songs.

Infographics

Hello everyone!!

Today I bring you another incredible tool to use in our class.
Infograpichs allow us to see at a glance the whole information. That is very useful to organize information in a clearly way. and  we can show the contents very easy with pictures.
One of the infographic trait is that it does not have too much words because if you put too much writing information, it would not be very visual.

My example of Infographic is the content of "Five Senses" for seconds graders. They can see the name of the senses and the picture of them quickly, so they will be able to relate names of the sense and organs very easily. And then if they look at it deeper, they will know the function of each one.

For this resource I have used the page Canva
I really like this page. It is very clear and there are a lot of designs. Then you can use your own pictures or you can use its pictures for free!! If you choose a desings made by the page, you will be able to change almost everything as the base, the letters.. ect.
Maybe one disadvantages could be that some of its pictures or resources have watermark, but that is not real problem because you can add your own pictures.
